UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched today in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the largest library in the Arab World at a cost of Dh 1 billion. The Library will be constructed on an area exceeding one million square feet to house 4.5 million soft, hard and audio books to benefit 42 prospective readers a year. The Library under construction is due to open in 2017 and will include 8 specialized libraries, 1.5 printed books, 2 million soft books, and 1 million audio books.

Set at Dubai Creek, Jaddaf area, the giant library will be a venue for more than 100 cultural and cognitive events a year, a museum and a forum for the key institutions concerned with the Arab content support.
