UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zyed Al Nahyan officially inaugurated “Khalifa Port” in Abu Dhabi in the presence of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The inauguration ceremony also saw the attendance of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,  the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikhs, ministers, members of the Executive Council, senior civilian and military officials as well as Arab and foreign diplomats accredited to the UAE. Sheikh Khalifa said that the inauguration of this port, which was built in accordance with the latest international standards, will be an important station in the modernization and development process being witnessed by the UAE. He asserted that Khalifa Port, upon completion, will become one of the most important ports for trade in the region and the Middle East, benefiting from the UAE's strategic location to act as a link between the economic regions of the world.
