Mohammed bin Rashid visits the Great Wall of China
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai visited the Great Wall of China today. He was briefed on the Wall’s main features, history and management. Also, briefed that the Wall was built in 400 BC to protect the boarders of the Chinese Empire aggressors, more than 300,000 workers took part in the construction process of the Wall, which runs from east to the west of china covering 500,000 km and visited by more than 150,000 tourists yearly from across the globe making it one of the important sources of Chinese national revenues. Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Her Excellency Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State; H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation; Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, Director of Foreign Minister's Office; H.E. Mohammed Ali Al Abbar, Director General of Economic Development Department; H.E. Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director of Dubai Protocol and Guest Department; Mohammed Rashid Albuot, the UAE ambassador to China and Yusheng Gao, China’s ambassador to the UAE Sheikh Mohammed wrote in the Wall's golden guestbook "The Great Wall of China is one of the wonders of the world and I am honoured to have visited this important historic monument".Sheikh Mohammed received memorials from the Great Wall's Manager.
