Mohammed bin Rashid visits RTA and reviews plans and initiatives
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the building of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) today, where he was briefed on the various projects, programs and initiatives that RTA intends to implement in the next phase. Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed began his visit by inaugurating "'clean energy bus' launched by RTA with the aim of encouraging public and private institutions to invest in environment- friendly transport means. Sheikh Mohammed went on to unveil a plaque of Middle East and North Africa Centre for excellent transport before touring the various sections of the center crowning the great achievement of the 59th UITP (International Association of Public Transport) Congress and Mobility and City Transport Exhibition hosted by Dubai in April 2011. At the RTA’s main meeting hall, Sheikh Mohammed listened to a presentation on the different plans, projects and programs the RTA plans to implement in the next phase. Sheikh Mohammed approved general plan of the Railway Network in Dubai until 2030.
