Mohammed bin Rashid reviews Expo 2020 Panel Plan
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum viewed the working plans and functions of the Expo 2020 Higher Committee and Team today, and discussed the arrangements for hosting this historic global event in Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed viewed a presentation delivered by the Minister of State and Managing Director of the Higher Committee on Hosting the World Expo 2020 Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, on Dubai’s readiness to transform the event into an historic cultural legacy for the people of the UAE. The work of the Higher Committee on Hosting the World Expo 2020 and the Expo 2020 Team revolves around promoting the Emirati cultural scene and spurring economic growth through cooperation between the public and private sectors. With around 180 participating countries and an expected influx of over 25 million visitors from all over the world, the event is expected to generate around 277 thousand new job opportunities in Dubai - in both sectors -over the Exhibition’s six-month run. The Higher Committee will also train more than 30,000 Emirati youth volunteers. This training will qualify and equip them with the necessary skills to receive visiting delegations, to engage in cultural and intellectual exchange, and to provide the necessary assistance in regards to hospitality and tourism, so as to ensure that the spectacular sights of the UAE are enjoyed by all participants and visitors.
