Mohammed bin Rashid receives French President

  H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai was received by French President Nicolas Sarkozy at Elysée Palace today.   Sheikh Mohammed reviewed the Presidential Guard of Honour. Sheikh Mohammed and Sarkozy discussed the historic friendship between their countries and the possibility of enhancing military, political and economic cooperation.   They exchanged views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the possibility of justice, freedom and equality for everyone in the Arab world. Sheikh Mohammed referred to France strategic role in restoring peace to the region. They both approved the agreement that Lebanon's leaders signed in Doha recently for achieving civil peace and coexistence of all Lebanese.   Sarkozy hosted a luncheon banquet that was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai's Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates Group, H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, UAE Foreign Trade Minister, H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Cabinet Affairs Minister, H.E. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Economy Minister, H.E. Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi, State Minister and Mohammed Abdullah Al Ghafli, the UAE’s chargé d'affaires in France. Sheikh Mohammed told the press that he was visiting France to enhance bilateral cooperation. After the talks held, Sheikh Mohammed left Elysée Palace and was seen off by President Nicolas Sarkozy.
