Mohammed bin Rashid opens 2nd phase of UAE Satellite Manufacturing Complex

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened the second phase of the complex specialized in satellites manufacturing, assembling and installation in the UAE. This complex can simultaneously embrace many space projects. This facility shall be used to install and assemble satellites of different sizes and functions; and which are designed with the highest international standards and specifications of the satellites manufacturing facilities. Moreover, this complex has been equipped with accurate measurement systems, space temperature simulation devices and satellites cranes to be used during installation as well as solar panels testing in zero gravity.
Sheikh Mohammed installed the first part of the final structure of “KhalifaSat”, the first Arab satellite which is being built purely by Emirati engineers.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) and the General Supervisor of all its projects, strategic and developmental plans His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
