Mohammed Bin Rashid Meets President of Saudi Arabia’s Islamic Development Ban
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rahsid Al Maktoum received, at Za’abeel Palace this evening, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group in Saudi Arabia H.E. Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali accompanied by other IDB staff as well as a number of UAE Islamic Economy Sector officials and Islamic bankers showing interest in Dubai as a potential global capital for Islamic economy. The gathering, which included Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, performed Maghreb prayers before they were invited to His Highness’ lavish Iftar banquet. Also present at the meeting and the Iftar banquet were Chairman of Dubai Arts and Culture Authority Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, other sheikhs, ministers, senior officials, heads of banks and bankers in the UAE. After the Iftar banquet, Sheikh Mohammed sanctioned an agreement of cooperation signed between “Dubai: Capital of Islamic Economy” initiative and the Saudi Arabia-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group at Za’abeel Palace this evening. The agreement, which was signed in the presence of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, comes within the context of promoting both parties’ efforts for the development of the Islamic Economy Sector and Islamic Finance Industry in the UAE.
