Mohammed Bin Rashid Launches the Dubai Islamic Economy Plan

​ UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched the strategic plan today for developing the Islamic economic sector. This plan comprises seven key developments and 46 strategic initiatives to be implemented within 36 months, with the aim of enhancing Dubai’s position as the capital of the Islamic economy. The event was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, and General Supervisor for the Islamic Economic Sector Development Initiative, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Federal National Council, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as a number of ministers, heads and directors of government departments, and prominent UAE business and media figures. “The strategic plan for developing the Islamic economic sector is a road map for the future of this sector. It sets the framework for consolidating the efforts of the various institutions and parties operating in this sector, in line with the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to position Dubai as the global capital of the Islamic economy,” stated Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktom, the initiative’s patron and sponsor.
