Mohammed bin Rashid Launches Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve in Dubai

The UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced that 10% of the emirate of Dubai’s total area will be designated for establishing a natural reserve for plants and local and migratory birds and animals under the name “Marmoom Reserve”, to be the biggest environmental and touristic destination sponsored by nine Dubai government agencies. “The Marmoum Reserve” is the first unfenced desert conservation reserve in the country and it will introduce more than 20 environmental, cultural and sports-related initiatives, aiming at attracting a million visitors each year. Deputy Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and a number of officials attended the launching event.
