Mohammed Bin Rashid inaugurates Passenger Terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport in Jebel Ali this morning. In commemoration of the inauguration, His Highness unveiled a ceremonial plaque installed at the entrance of the departure terminal. The inauguration is the first phase of promising airport’s construction, and is located at the heart of Dubai World Central Aviation City. Sheikh Mohammed toured the new buildings, starting from the departure terminal and stopping by the check-in counters. He continued with a visit to the Passport Control Hall, where travellers have their passports stamped. Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (DNRD) provided ten departure counters and sixteen arrival counters that could be increased, according to Director General of DNRD Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri. His Highness then toured the Dubai Duty Free and browsed through the wide range of clothes, electronics, national products, perfumes, foodstuff, and so on, that are offered at competitive prices to satisfy the demands of passengers desiring convenient shopping. Later on outside of the terminal, Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation witnessed the celebration of the first airplane landing in Al Maktoum International Airport. The airplane is Wizz Air Hungary Airlines, a low-cost airline with a network connecting Dubai to Central and Eastern Europe via Al Maktoum International Airport.
