Mohammed Bin Rashid Inaugurates New Campus of Emirates College for Financial Sciences
His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated the new campus of the former Emirates Institute for Banking, located in Dubai Academic City. At the inauguration’s closing, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum introduced the new name of the campus: The Emirates College for Financial Sciences (ECFS). Also present at the inauguration were Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammad unveiled the plaque for the new campus and viewed a documentary about the Institute, which was founded in 1983 and has two branches in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The Institute trained 90,000 graduates working in UAE banks; 35,000 of whom are UAE nationals. The ECFS’s new campus consists of lecture halls, state of art labs, a modern theatre, luxurious offices, and other facilities, covering an area of 37,000 square meters with a total cost of AED150 million. The College is specialized in training and rehabilitating the UAE’s skilled labor, and developing their abilities through specialized programs and courses accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The College awards graduates the Bachelor of Science degree in Banking.
