​ UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, inaugurated the Global Islamic Economy Summit (GIES) today. The inauguration was held in the presence of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; H.H Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and H.H Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed also attended the Islamic Economy Award ceremony, which was held in conjunction with the GIES, in accordance with directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. At the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed honored winning individuals and corporations of the various categories of the Award, which is organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Thomson Reuters, and in coordination with the Dubai Capital of the Islamic Economy initiative.
