Mohammed bin Rashid honors pioneer cohort of Emirates NBD

UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored the first cohort of chairmen, vice-chairmen, and members of the Board of Directors of the former Dubai National Bank, now known as the Emirates National Bank of Dubai (NBD). The ceremony, held at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) this morning, was attended by the Crown Prince of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed also honored a number of directors, executives, and deputies of the bank established during the lifetime of late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum in 1962. The first Chairman of the National Bank of Dubai was the late Sultan bin Ali Al Owais. Moreover, the honorary ceremony saw the participation of more than 500 guests, representing various local, economic, and social organizations in Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Emirates NBD extolled the significance of the ceremony: “On this special occasion, we are pleased to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Emirates NBD’s establishment, the first national bank in the UAE. We are also glad that this occasion coincides with UAE’s winning bid to make Dubai the host of the Expo 2020. We are honored to announce that Emirates NBD was a key partner in supporting the UAE’s bid to host the Expo 2020.”
