Mohammed bin Rashid chaires a meeting of the UAE Cabinet

H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai chaired a meeting of the UAE Cabinet today. The meeting, which was held at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister. The Cabinet approved a memorandum submitted by Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which detailed 26 new appointments, promotions and transfers of UAE ambassadors, including the selection of two female ambassadors for the first time. Sheikh Mohammed hailed the appointment of the female ambassadors which will contribute to the effective participation of UAE women in all fields, thus fulfilling their national duty. The Cabinet discussed a federal draft law governing the UAE media's activities in the country and a Federal National Council (FNC) memorandum, dealing with the positions and policies of the Interior Ministry, the General Pension and Social Security Authority and the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments. The Cabinet agreed on UAE membership of the International Search and Rescue Organisation, as well as joining the International Overland Transport Agreement for Passengers and Goods that was signed between the UAE and Yemen on May 28, 2008.The Cabinet also discussed the second quarter federal budget performance.
