Mohammed bin Rashid bags Dubai World Cup victory with African Story
UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received the Dubai World Cup trophy from his brother, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by the Deputy Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Speeding ahead of seventeen of the world’s elite horses as they competed for the world’s most lucrative and renowned cup in horse racing, Godolphin's African Story won the Dubai World Cup prize of USD 4 million plus the gold trophy. The competition was staged this evening at the 1.25 mile-long grandstand of Meydan Racecourse in Nad Al Shiba, Dubai. As he was presented the award, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received a wave of congratulations and salutations from sheikhs, officials, and attendees who witnessed this spectacular victory, which has earned the UAE a prominent reputation in the world of international horse racing.
