​ On Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm, the UAE witnessed an historical moment when the Emiratis and their leadership gathered around the UAE flag raised on the Union House as they chanted: “The peace is everlasting and the flag lives on, our Emirates." The ceremony, which was led by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, took place at the Union House, at the very location where the Founding Fathers first raised the flag more than 42 years ago; declaring that this one flag represents all and none but Emiratis. “We renew our allegiance and promise to the people of the UAE to serve them and their dignity, to sacrifice our souls for the soil of the UAE and be loyal to the flag and keep it flying aloft,” proclaimed Sheikh Mohammed, after raising the flag during the remarkable ceremony, which was attended by the Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Deputy Ruler Dubai Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
