Mohammed bin Rashid attends IPC Powerlifting World Championships

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended part of the 2014 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Powerlifting World Championships this afternoon, hosted by Dubai Club for the Disabled from 5 to 11 April. Upon his arrival to Dubai Club for the Disabled, HH Sheikh Mohammed inspected the UAE team’s practice facilities. He was briefed about the athletes’ condition and their readiness to participate in the competition. More than 430 athletes of both genders, representing 65 countries, and divided into 10 different weight categories, are participating in the event. During the visit, HH Sheikh Mohammed ordered the allocation of AED 6 million to support people with special needs and encourage their engagement in sports and participation in local, regional, and international events and championships.
