UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, attended today the launch of the 3rd Government Summit at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. Held under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”, the Summit runs from 9 to 11 February 2015. Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan delivered the keynote speech at this year’s edition of the Summit. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s speech tackled many historical and national values with which the audience and participants interacted. Bin Zayed touched on a number of national issues, and addressed the principles and values upon which the UAE was established, as they were instilled by the founding father late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Further, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan addressed the audience at a plenary session entitled “Progressive Patriotism”. The first day of the 3rd Government Summit kicked off with a keynote address by the Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum “Davos” Klaus Schwab, where he tackled the new global perspective and its effect on the role of governments. Then, the South Korean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Huang Wu Yi delivered a speech about education and its role as a driving force for the development of Korea. Among other prominent speakers at the first day of the Summit were CEO of Samsung Electronics Co. Boo Keun Yoon, whose session was on “Staying Ahead of the Curve: How Samsung Drives Innovation” and UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. About 4000 participants from the UAE and 93 countries from all over the world have participated in the 3rd Government Summit, including, prominent figures, government sector’s senior officials and international experts. In addition, more than 100 figures, including senior speakers leading key interactive sessions that bring together a number of leaders, decision makers, ministers, CEOs, thought leaders in area of government innovation, as well as government officials and experts who will present their opinions, ideas, thoughts, and visions concerning the next generation of future governments in over 50 specialized sessions.
