Mohammed bin Rashid attends inaugural session of WEF 2012

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the inaugural session of the World Energy Forum 2012, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre today. Dubai Deputy Ruler HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum delivered the inaugural speech at the three-day conference. In his speech, Sheikh Maktoum welcomed the attendees and thanked them for answering the call to participate in this high- level international conference taking place for the first time outside the headquarters of the United Nations. He added that this international event aims to augment international cooperation and exchange expertise towards achieving access to cleaner, safer and more sustainable energy that provides world peoples with economic and social prosperity. Before the conclusion of the inaugural session, HH Sheikh Mohammed  signed on the document of the United Nations Declaration on Sustainable Energy. The document was also signed by the heads of delegations. The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Minister of Energy Mohammd Dhaen Al Hamli, ministers, heads of government departments and institutions, UAE economic personalities and over 500 participants.
