Mohammed Bin Rashid attends “Expo 2020” Theme Symposium

​ UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, attended the first session of the Expo 2020 theme symposium held at the Arena Hall in Madinat Jumeirah this morning. The symposium centered on a discussion the Dubai Expo 2020’s theme, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.” The symposium was attended by the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation, and the Chief Executive of Emirates Group and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Dubai Expo 2020, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Also in attendance were a number of senior officials and representatives from 167 member nations of the Paris-based Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the international organization in charge of overseeing the selection of countries to host the Word Expo and their organization. Before the audience convened, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed and met with more than 250 representatives and international experts partaking in the three-day symposium. While taking commemorative pictures with them, Sheikh Mohammed shook hands with each and every one of them, and wished them success in their discussion of the Expo 2020 theme. The theme was selected and approved by the UAE for the event, in case it won the bid to host this major international event at the city of Dubai in 2012.
