UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today attended the Emirates Government Excellence Conference 2013 at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. The conference was also attended by Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as well as a number of ministers and officials from the federal and local governments. Sheikh Mohammed stressed the importance of boosting the culture of excellence in government performance as it constitutes a key element in solidifying the status of the UAE as a global destination for investment and businesses. His Highness gave directives to establish the Emirates Excellence Council in order to consolidate federal and local government excellence programs under one banner. The new entity will build on the collective efforts of various government excellence teams across the country and help instill the culture of excellence as a national trait.
