Mohammed bin Rashid attends 2014 Dubai World Cup reception

28 March 2014

UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended a reception and dinner hosted by Falcon and Associates at Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The reception and dinner were held for owners, breeders, trainers, and participants in the 19th Dubai World Cup, which kicks off tomorrow at Meydan Group's Nad al Sheba Racecourse, Dubai. The wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein delivered a speech on this special occasion. She welcomed the guests, who flocked to Dubai from all over the world to attend the mega sporting event, and wished them a pleasant stay in Dubai. HRH Princess Haya highlighted the history of Dubai World Cup since its 1996 launch upon directives by Sheikh Mohammed. Sheikh Mohammed envisioned that the Dubai World Cup, staged on Meydan Racecourse, would attract the world's most elite racers and best thoroughbreds to compete for the world’s largest prize purse. Sheikh Mohammed’s vision became a reality following the completion of Meydan Sporting and Tourism Project, one of Dubai’s premier leisure and sporting attractions. Now the Meydan Racecourse is considered one of the largest and most renowned racecourses in the world.
