Mohammed bin Rashid attendes Agreement signing ceremony for establishing a Dubai branch of the Lebanese University
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai attended Agreement signing ceremony for establishing a Dubai branch of the Lebanese-based St. Joseph’s University, at Emirates Towers yesterday. Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai (KHDA) Dr. Abdulla Al Karam signed the agreement. Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the university’s decision to open the college of international law saying that this would give UAE nationals the opportunity to study locally instead of traveling abroad. The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Ahmed bin Bayat, Secretary General of Dubai Executive Council, H.E. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Duba, Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Dubai Attorney General, Dr. Ahmed bin Hazim Al Suwaidi, Director of Dubai Courts, Fatima Al Marri, the Executive Chairman of School Education Foundation of the Knowledge Authority, Jamila Al Muhairi, Chairman of School Supervisory Department, Professor Antoine Hokayem, Vice-President for International Affairs and Professor Fayez Hajj Chahine, Dean of the Faculty of Law. Donna Al Turk, the Lebanese Consul General in Dubai, also attended the signing along with number of senior officials and education leading personalities. The Agreement provides for opening the branch in the Dubai School of Law, and begin to receive and register students wishing to study international law in Arabic all disciplines (law and the judicial and diplomatic) and others, starting next September.
