UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the “Mobile Government” (m-Government) initiative starting the and marking a significant breakthrough in the delivery of government services to the public through their mobile phones, anywhere and round-the-clock.   Sheikh Mohammed directed all federal and local government entities to provide their services to customers in an innovative and easy manner via mobile phones within 24 months, stressing that the government is able to move successfully effectively and efficiently to accomplish this mission. The announcement of the launch of M-Government initiative came during a meeting organized by the UAE government with the participation of more than 1,000 government officials. This followed Sheikh Mohammed’s directives at the Government Summit, held in Dubai recently, during which he stressed the need to develop and upgrade government services and make them more convenient for the public.
