​ His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai International Financial Centre, opened the Sibos 2013 Exhibition and Conference for Financial and Banking Services Worldwide. Sheikh Maktoum toured the various halls and foyers of the exhibition, during which officials briefed him about the platforms of the global financial and banking companies. The four day exhibition and conference is being held for the first time in the Middle East. The event is organized by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT). The conference will feature discussion about several significant issues pertaining to the financial and banking sectors. About 200 national and international companies from 40 countries are participating in the conference and exhibition. Sibos 2013 is considered an important platform for dialogue and exchange of knowledge, information, and expertise amongst decision makers and experts of financial institutions and organizations, including multinational companies operating in the financial and information service sectors.
