Maktoum bin Mohammed honors Emirates Environment Award winners
Deputy Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has honored winners of the 1st edition of the Emirates Appreciation Award for the Environment at a ceremony held at Madinat Jumeirah. A major milestone in the over 12 year remarkable success story of the Zayed International Foundation for the Environment, the Award was launched in September 2011, under the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Environment. The Award highlights the role of the UAE’s society in supporting sustainable development within the country and its contribution to the realization of the UAE Vision 2021. The Award comprises five categories, with a total purse of one million dirhams.
