Hamdan Bin Rashid Visits the King Abdul Aziz's Endowment Complex in Jeddah
During his visit to Saudi Arabia as a participant in the meetings of the Islamic Development Bank of Jeddah, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum visited King Abdul Aziz Al Saud's Endowment Complex. The complex is located in the perimeter of the Holy Mosque in Makkah and consists of seven skyscrapers and towers for hotels and furnished apartments. The Makkah Clock Tower, which contains the largest and highest hotel in the world, is located in the heart of the complex. His Highness and his accompanying delegation toured the permanent Gallery of Astronomy, located within the complex. They listened to a detailed presentation given by the gallery’s curators regarding each of its sections, which include Islamic astronomy and its branches; lunar and solar eclipses; planets; the movement of galaxies; and the earth's features, atmosphere, and crescents. As the Islamic Civilization has a rich scientific tradition, the gallery also features other astronomical sciences for which Muslims are known.
