His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Sponsor of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance (HBRADAP), received an official invitation from the United Nations Organization for Education, Culture and Science (UNESCO) to inaugurate the Great Hall at UNESCO headquarters in the French capital, Paris, which was renovated via a nole grant from His Highness. This came during his meeting with Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General in his palace at Zabeel.

During the meeting, they reviewed ways for supporting the development of cooperation between UNESCO and Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance in the field of supporting the educational programs sought after by the two sides to achieve their common objectives to promote educational projects in developing countries and encourage the dissemination of best educational practices that contribute to the creation of quality education in poor communities.
