Hamdan bin Rashid opens the Fifth Emirates Diabetes Congress
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Health Authority opened the Fifth Emirates Diabetes Congress and expressed his admiration of the developments witnessed in medication and test devices of diabetes affecting about 19% of the UAE citizens and residents. His Highness toured the 5th Emirates Diabetes Congress Exhibition and requested the representatives of Abbot Company to develop a detailed report on “Freestyle Libre” latest device for blood glucose level control without sample taking or pricks. His Highness said “One of our goals in the current stage is to reinforce Dubai’s position as a main center for medical tourism all over the area”. His Highness added that work is going in full swing to provide the infrastructure and qualify distinctive medical staff for the management of such important sector.
