  Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened the 19th session of the Gulfood Exhibition 2014, hosted by the Dubai World Trade Centre (WTC). The exhibition space is 113,398 square meters. Over 4,500 companies and brands from 120 countries are participating in the exhibition. The inaugural World Food Security Summit featured a Gulfood Leaders Event organized by the WTC and supported by the Ministry of Environment and Water. The event, held at the Concord Hotel adjacent to the WTC, welcomed over 300 high-ranking ministers, industry thought leaders, government representatives, and sector-specific global visionaries, to address the importance of securing a stable, cost-effective, and safe supply of food to address increasing global demand.
