Dubai Deputy Ruler and Minister of Finance HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored today the winners of 14th edition of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance. The event, which comprises of awards extended to local, Gulf, Arab and international winners, was held at Rashid Hall at Dubai World Trade Center and was attended by a number of sheikhs, ministers and heads of government departments. Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the UAE General Women's Union and Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation, was named the distinguished personality of the year for her rich contributions to education. The award was received on behalf of Sheikh Fatima by Dr. Maitha Salem Al-Shamsi, Minister of State, Chairwoman of the Marriage Fund and Advisor to the President of the Family Development Foundation.
