Hamdan bin Mohammed wins the Emirates Golden Sword

Following a series of sweeping victories by Al Asifa Camels on the final day of the 2014 Heritage Festival in Al Marmoum, Crown Prince of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was awarded the Emirates Golden Sword. His Highness’s Al Asifa Camels captured the Golden Sword and Dagger trophies, having taken the lead for three rounds with the camels Saba, Dari, and Mukhifa. At the same time, the Presidency’s camel Maghrour, also from Al Asifa, took the leading position in the fourth round. By securing the lion’s share of victories in the final day of the festival, Al Asifa attained a new record. Following the race, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee and Chairman of Dubai Camel Racing Club HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum honored the winners. The Crown Prince of Dubai received the First Golden Sword and HH Sheikh Saeed Maktoum Al Maktoum received the Second Golden Sword that went to Al Asifa Camels. HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum was awarded the Golden Dagger. The flawless victory of Al Asifa Camels was met with the resounding cheers by camel race enthusiasts in attendance at the track, as well as Al Asifa fans. Following the announcement of the results, these fans headed towards the car of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid, to congratulate him on this well-deserved win. It was a spectacular scene that intensified the exhilarating aura of the final rounds.
