As per the directions of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the necessary enhancement of the role and concept of corporate social responsibility between individuals, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the initiative of “Day for Dubai” with the aim of establishing the soul of volunteering by allocating at least one day in the year for voluntary works among different types of voluntary activities that volunteers could initiate through dedicating a part of their time commensurate to their skills and practical experience, or engaging in a voluntary activity along with the initiatives of different entities or organizations for the service of community.

The initiative was launched during a meeting of the Dubai Executive Council chaired by His Highness and held at Emirates Towers in the context of the discussion of a number of issues on the agenda in the presence of Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the First Deputy Chairman of Dubai Executive Council His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum along with the Council members.
