H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum performed sunset prayer yesterday at Sheikh Rashid Bin Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Mosque in the Al Warqaa District of Dubai. The prayer was in honor of the inauguration of the mosque, which cost approximately 16 million dirhams. Sheikh Dr. Saleh Al Maghamsi, the preacher and imam of Qebaa Mosque in the Medina led the prayer. Present at the  prayer were Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Jumah Al Maktoum;  alongside several sheikhs, leaders, and directors of governmental departments and corporations. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum displayed pride for the inauguration of a mosque bearing the name of Sheikh Rashid Bin Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He praised the initiative of Sheikha Aliaa Bent Khalifa Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who took upon herself to build and furnish the Mosque at her own cost;  in honor of her late father Sheikh Rashid Bin Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. H.H. Dubai Crown Prince prayed to Allah that the charity Sheikha Aliaa is well-received, and that Sheikh Rashid Bin Maktoum is forgiven and shown mercy by Allah. The mosque is constructed on one hundred thousand square feet, and can host one thousand and five hundred worshippers from both genders. It includes a Holy Quran memorization center with unique Islamic engineering and decoration, four domes anda lofty minaret, and interior and exterior walls adorned by verses of the Holy Quran and old and modern Islamic sculptures. Sources from the Department of Endowments and Charitable Activities in Dubai- which oversaw the construction of the mosque- confirmed that Sheikha Aliaa Al Maktoum supervised the engineering and design. The mosque was built with solid Palestinian stone known for its ability to endure elements of the climate: temperature, humidity, etc. The same sources added that the Mosque, which serves a new residential district in the Al Warqaa District 4; will host religious events during the Holy Month of Ramadan. An invitation was sent to a number of reciters and preachers to recite the Holy Quran and deliver religious lectures and lessons during the holy month; in order to reflect the great spirit, principles, and instructions of Islam.
