  Under directives of the President, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,  H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince of Dubai and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai attended a ceremony honouring leading UAE Sports Stars who had contributed to fly the UAE flag, and play the national peace in global events in recognition of their efforts and dedication as tradition to reflects the keenness of enlightened political leadership in appreciating, honoring and valuing the efforts of anyone who sincerely serves his homeland.   During the ceremony 236 sport stars of 2005/2006 season will be honoured with leading 8 Sheikhs from Al Maktoum family who secured great achievements reflecting the volume of interaction with the sports arena and reflect a true picture of the reality of sports attracting all segments of society and emphasizes that the work on sports moving on the right path.   Also, 15 sports federations and 12 media organizations will be honoured for achievements in sports field.    The General Sports Authority all ready to carry out this ceremony which is being held at (the Emirates Palace), also issued a comprehensive booklet contains an overview of the history of the sports in the UAE, development and upgrade phases of the Olympic Movement supported by pictures that record the most important and most prominent sporting achievements.
