Upon directions of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan during an extraordinary session of the Cabinet held at Wahat Al Karama in front of Martyrs Monument in Abu Dhabi in the presence of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; the Year of Giving was announced to be devoted with all its initiatives, projects and programs to the UAE martyrs and their pure souls in commemoration of their memory, in appreciation of their sacrifices and intensifying the values of giving and offering to which they set the best examples.

The Cabinet also reviewed the National Strategy of the Year of Giving in front of Martyrs Monument, approved it and called upon all parties to collaborate for its success.
